Free Screening: Indie Bookstores After Dark
When the sun goes away, the indies come out to play.
We're beyond excited to announce a one-of-a kind event series debuting at The Last Picture House on Indie Bookstore Day! From 5pm until 9pm, LPH, The Macabre Librarian, and The Atlas Collective are teaming up to offer you a themed experience, featuring new & used horror books & blind dates with a book in the cocktail lounge followed by a free, surprise horror movie screening at 9 pm. The bar will offer a New Orleans-themed drink menu for one night.
Here's the business description I always use:
The Macabre Librarian is a Quad Cities-based pop-up bookshop & online store featuring blind dates with a book. Using over a decade of bookselling experience, we aim to connect people more deeply to their reading lives; encourage book-related self-care; and heighten consciousness about the world of bookselling. In addition to doing pop-ups, we partner with local businesses such as The Atlas Collective, Rescued, Skeleton Key Art & Antiques, Coffee Apothecary, Planted. & Anthology for Books to bring curated books, blind dates with a book, and book crafts to their stores.
The Atlas Collective is a new and used bookstore and coffee bar. Providing a space for all to gather and grow, highlighting local authors, vendors and local food makers, you are sure to feel right at home with us. Come pursue our children's section with a lending library or our postcard station to send your bookstore joy to anyone, anywhere. We're so glad you're here.PT2H3M2026-04-25Free Screening: Indie Bookstores After Dark"Free Screening: Indie Bookstores After Dark"Showtimes
